The Mask

From my view all I see
rushing 'round
lunacy

Peoples faces black and white
no more colour
no more life

What does happen along the way
children's laughter
adult's pain

I've seen too much like rain from the sky
a crust is falling
covering my eye

This suppressive mask that has determined my age
will not be broken

It just won't crack I'm in a self made cage
help me free yourself so help me

I can't and won't live like a sheep behind bars
I won't die slowly

Now I look up and all I see is a glimmer of colour that used to be me
